Having been around for over half a century, the Dodge Charger is definitely one of the most popular cars in American history. Although it was initially designed as a coupe, it was reimagined in the 21st century as a sedan, keeping all the qualities that made it famous while adding more space and comfort.
Trim Levels (Exterior)
There are six trims available for the 2021 Dodge Charger: SXT, GT, R/T, Scat Pack, SRT Hellcat, and SRT Hellcat Redeye. It is a very good-looking and well-equipped vehicle in any trim, with some of the most eye-catching exterior features being the 17-inch aluminum wheels that can be upgraded to a 20-inch set, LED headlights, an aggressive front grille, and plenty of paint color options.
Engine (Power)
There are no less than five available engines for the 2021 Dodge Charger. The base engine is available for the SXT and GT trims — a 3.6-liter V-6 with up to 292 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque. The R/T trim gets a larger 5.7-liter V-8 engine that can produce up to 370 horsepower and 395 pound-feet of torque. The Scat Pack also has a V-8 engine, but with a 6.4-liter capacity, it's larger than the one on the previous trim and has a higher power output, at 485 horsepower and 475 pound-feet of torque.
The top two trims, SRT and SRT Hellcat Redeye, both have supremely powerful 6.2-liter supercharged V-8 engines, with the former being able to produce up to 717 horsepower and 650 pound-feet of torque, and the latter producing up to 797 horsepower and 707 pound-feet of torque.
Performance
The 2021 Dodge Charger is a high-performance car in any trim. When equipped with the midrange Scat Pack trim's engine, it can reach a speed of 60 miles per hour from a standstill in just 4.6 seconds, significantly quicker than most other sedans' top trims. Its breaking performance is also fit for such a quick vehicle, with the Charger only needing 102 feet to come back to a complete halt from a speed of 60 miles per hour.
Interior
The 2021 Dodge Charger's interior stays within the car's overall theme and mixes the look and functionality of a modern sedan with the feeling of a sports car. It's also very spacious for a high-performance vehicle, with plenty of room even in the back seat. Infotainment functions are available through Dodge's Uconnect system and can be accessed via the standard 7-inch touch-screen interface, which can be upgraded to 8.4 inches. Smartphone compatibility through Apple CarPlay and Android Auto is also standard.
Safety Features
The 2021 Dodge Charger is a very safe vehicle in case of an unfortunate collision, with the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration offering it a maximum five-star safety rating. It also comes with plenty of driver aids designed to help the driver avoid collisions, with some of the most useful being the blind-spot monitoring, forward collision warning, and rear cross-traffic alert systems, which all work together to detect any potential danger around the Charger.
